EPA's OOOOb: NAVIGATING THE REVISED VOC AND METHANE RULES
On March 8, 2024, The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) finalized the update to the New Source Performance Standard aimed at reducing emissions of methane and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from the oil and natural gas sector. The revisions to the “Quad Ob” Rule sets limits on venting of certain equipment and imposes further requirements for leak detection and repair activities.
Solar Turbines anticipated this rule, and we are prepared to meet your compliance and carbon reduction needs.
We understand the compliance obligations that face the oil and gas industry. We’ve invested in our products with you in mind. Our compressor dry gas seals have the capability to meet the 10 scfm per seal rule limit and the Solar® CATCH4 system achieves reduction of compressor related CH4 emissions to lower levels. As a result of these efforts, we have solutions for the “Quad Ob” requirements today.
