Synthetic Gas to Energy
Solar Turbines can help your business with renewable electricity by converting waste to energy. Synthetic gas, or Syngas, consists primarily of hydrogen and carbon monoxide. Syngas is usually the product of gasification of coal, biomass or Municipal Solid Waste (MSW).
Solar offers high Hydrogen and high CO gas turbines packages that provide 100% renewable electricity, which can be produced out of woody biomass gasification to energy. MSW gasification to power is considered partially renewable in some regions depending on the amount of biogenic in the waste. This service can provide sustainable energy for district heating and hospitals.
Additionally, customers can benefit from Gas Turbine Combined Cycle (GTCC) for high efficiency electrical generation from biomass, or combined heat and power (CHP) applications producing steam.
Landfill and Digester Gas
Landfill and digester gas are similarly composed of methane, CO2 and N2. This methane rich gas is captured from landfills, produced in digester in sewage treatment plants, or digesting agricultural waste, industry or urban food waste. The biogas is sanitized from pollutants, typically H2S and siloxanes, that is compressed and supplied as fuel to gas turbines. Solar’s gas turbines then generate renewable electricity and heat.
