Solar Turbines nominated two Solar leaders for YWCA of San Diego's Tribute to Women & Industry (TWIN) awards. YWCA of San Diego County empowers women, men and children to break the cycle of domestic violence and homelessness and achieve self-sufficiency. YWCA is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and advocating for peace, justice, and freedom for all. The TWIN awards are hosted every year to recognize women in a leadership role for their outstanding achievements.
Solar has nominated its leaders for the TWIN awards for more than a decade. This year, the previous Solar TWIN nominees selected two amazing leaders for the Mentor Award and the Visionary Award.
Christina Macatee, Project Applications Engineering Manager, was nominated for the Mentor award. Christina founded the Solar Women Engineers Employee Resource group, brought awareness to unconscious bias, and drove inclusive behavior in the workplace. Congratulations, Christina, for taking home the award!
Cynthia Sheya Palmer, Strategic Analysis Manager, was nominated for the Visionary award. As a leader in business transformation, Cynthia has significantly improved Solar’s marketing strategy. Thanks to her guidance and expertise, Solar has one safe source for all market data. Cynthia was named a finalist of the Visionary award. Congratulations, Cynthia!
Solar is proud to have both Christina and Cynthia as leaders of the company! Thank you for being part of the Solar team.
