  • Solar employees participate in Caterpillar’s health and welfare plans which offer a range of 3 different plan types – PPO, CDHP with HSA option, and EPO. All healthcare plan options provide coverage for network services and differ by level of deductibles, maximum out-of-pocket limits, and employee premium contribution.
  • Comprehensive dental and vision plans are also available. 


  • Three Flexible Spending Account options are available to all Solar employees to use pre-tax dollars to pay for health, vision, dental, and dependent care expenses. 
  • Regular full-time employees are eligible to participate in a competitive 401(k) plan with company contributions through Caterpillar. Both pre-tax and Roth 401(k) plans are offered.
  • Solar provides short-term disability insurance, life insurance, AD and D, and business travel accident insurance at no additional cost to employees. 

Employee Assistance Program

  • The Caterpillar EPA provides personal support and resources for employees and their families to help make life (both at home and at work) more manageable.  This includes confidential counseling and referrals for personal, family, financial, legal, health or work-related problems to employees, their spouses, and eligible dependents.  

Time Off

  • Solar offers a competitive Paid Time Off package consisting of vacation days, company paid holidays, volunteer time, paid sick leave, jury duty, and military reserve pay.
